“As a working mom with young children, I am very busy. Leah not only helps me learn more about drawing and painting; she also gently but firmly keeps me on track to prioritize art in my life.” - Nats Grant Logan

For Natalie, a 36-year-old Scottish expat living in Nairobi, Kenya the problem wasn't so much artistic inspiration - which abounds in Africa - as it was finding the time to do art. With a full-time job and two young kids at home, she and her husband - who also worked full-time, and had published his first novel - were struggling to make sure art and writing took priority in their home.
"These online drawing and online painting classes came at just the right time for me," says Natalie. "I was ready to push myself artistically, but I didn't know how. Leah took me in all sorts of directions, using many mediums I wouldn't have dared try on my own. She forced me to go outside my box."
Since she's started the online art classes, Natalie has befriended and collaborated with local artists, helped found the professional group Illustration Kenya, and she's been invited to show her work.
"I can't believe how much more art I'm doing than I was when I started classes," she said. "It's really great."
"I love these online lessons - I can do them in my pajamas, I don't have to fight traffic, I can work them around my schedule. Yet I still get personalized attention - I often feel like I am in Leah's studio with her (or vice versa)." - Nats Grant Logan
