COMPLETE CLASS AND WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
Expressive Portraiture (Drawing and Encaustic Painting): Combine the technical skills of drawing the face with the expressive luminious abstract opportunities afforded by encaustic painting. This two-day workshop will focus first on the technique of achieving likeness with faces, and then using that likeness to build abstract compositions with encaustics and other mixed media techniques. All experience levels welcome! Class size limited to six per session. Day I and II are offered several times over the month, e-mail for more details: leah@theroamingstudio.com
Landscape Painting with Don Bishop: Prep for painting outdoors in this series of step-by-step oil painting workshops with Don Bishop, one of the Northwest's premiere landscape plein aire painters. Don will guide you, step by step, through his technique using oil paint working from a series of photos, depending upon the workshop subject. This class is great for all levels, including beginners.
Figure Drawing I and II: These figure drawing sessions, working with different model each week, are geared both towards beginners and more experienced artists. Learn proportions and measuring, capturing gesture, body planes, anatomy, and other elements of figure drawing. Take your drawing of the figure to the next level!
Studio Painting: Students work on paintings of their choice in this painting class, with help from the teacher on an individual basis. Use any medium (watercolor, oil, acrylic), and pick any subject matter, or work with the teacher to assign yourself a project. Good for both beginners and experienced artists.
